We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for splicing fiber optic cables in telecommunications networks, as well as testing and troubleshooting equipment. As a Fiber Optic Splicing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of our clients' communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Splice fiber optic cables using fusion splicers and mechanical splicing equipment
• Install and prepare splice enclosures, fiber-optic distribution cabinets and termination panels
• Test fiber optic cables using Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), power meters, and light sources
• Troubleshoot faults in fiber optic networks
• Interpret manuals and schematics to carry out routine maintenance and repairs
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Certificate/diploma in fiber optics or related field
• At least 2 years’ experience in fiber optics splicing and testing
• Knowledge of fiber optic network infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret schematics
• Experience using OTDRs, splicing equipment, and testing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
