Job Description

The Marketing Communication Specialist is responsible to communicate relevant, useful information to employees in a timely manner which results in a well-informed work force. It will promote the company’s products and services to existing and prospective customers through strategic use of graphics, logos, and other promotional products.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions:

  • Adheres to General Work Requirements
  • Responsible for publishing FYI Newsletter (e.g., interviewing, writing, layout, photo editing)
  • Responsible for photography of company events
  • Communicate via Website and Corporate Communications email
  • Participate in various meetings to gather information
  • Meet with non-profit charity leadership to help determine corporate sponsorships/donations
  • Meet with community leadership to help determine community event participation
  • Collaborates with sales or marketing representatives to fully understand product and communication needs.
  • Gathers the materials necessary to understand the project and competition in the area such as literature or previous marketing campaigns; analyzes these materials to determine the most effective communications technique.
  • Based on assessment, drafts and proposes communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia.
  • Presents design ideas and recommendations to marketing manager, committee, or sales team.
  • Creates and coordinates multimedia packages.
  • Composes draft speeches for senior management and assists with finalizing speeches.
  • Schedules and develops filming scripts and production.
  • Evaluates success of campaigns when completed.
  • Attends trade shows and community fairs and staffs the company booth.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Working knowledge of basic business and management principles as applied to resource allocation, leadership technique, staff and resource coordination, strategic planning, and human resource modeling.
  • Provides regular reports of activities to management.
  • Attends meetings and conference calls as require
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications
  • Working knowledge of publishing software-Quark, photo editing software - Photoshop
  • Thorough knowledge of internet
  • Thorough knowledge of photography
  • Thorough knowledge of community relations
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and departments
  • Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation finance/accounting, and web-based applications
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting
  • Ability to listen and communicate accurately
