Job Description


The role of the Automation Tech Lv1-2 is primarily two-fold. First, to be a great team member who demonstrates high levels of ownership in everything they do. Second is to support the team by safely providing solutions to ongoing automation issues, developing code for new systems, training the site electrical team to be proficient with automation systems, and working with IT to ensure the security of our systems.


Successful candidates will be expected to work with the Operations, Maintenance, and Finance teams to propose and implement solutions to challenges in the steel making process and business. Safety is the most important part of all jobs; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.


Minimum Requirements:


2 years of experience with industrial process control systems including DCS, PLC and SCADA based systems.

This can be a combination of school plus work experience.

Preferences:


Demonstrated ability to work within a team.

Demonstrated ability to work safely.

2-4 years of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience

Proficient in database programming languages

Proficiency with PLC, DCS, & SCADA process control systems (Hardware & Software)

Proficiency with data analysis tools & Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

PLC (Allen-Bradley preferred not required) ladder and block programming & troubleshooting experience.

PLC communication protocols: Ethernet IP, Modbus, etc. experience.

Human Machine Interface (HMI) such as WonderWare or WinCC experience.
