Organizational Skills: The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills to effectively manage various aspects of the recruitment process, including candidate records, scheduling, and administrative tasks. Attention to detail is crucial in maintaining accurate applicant records and ensuring a seamless onboarding process for new hires.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for candidate interactions, correspondence, and internal communications. Clear and professional communication is vital when conducting candidate interviews, responding to inquiries, and collaborating with the management team.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications is important for maintaining applicant records, preparing documents, and managing data. Familiarity with HR processes and systems is a plus but not required, as training may be provided for the right candidate.

Duties

  • Call candidates and respond to email inquiries
  • Manage advertising channels and application portal
  • Evaluate employment applications and shortlist
  • Complete screening phone calls and provide realistic job preview
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate with management
  • Conduct reference checks and other onboarding processes
  • Update and maintain applicant records within various computer systems
  • Assist management team with other administrative duties, including meeting minutes

Requirements

  • 2 years administrative and/or customer service experience
  • Experience in transportation and logistics industry an asset
  • Minimum 21 years of age (required to be able to drive company vehicle)
  • Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Attendance at a variety of work locations for interview and hiring events
  • Ability to use various mobile and computer applications
