Senior Technician - Electronics

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prototype Development: Lead the design, assembly, and testing of electronic prototypes for drone components and systems, including flight controllers, power distribution boards, batteries, sensor arrays, and wireless communication modules.
2. Component Sourcing: Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source electronic components and materials required for prototype development, ensuring availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
3. Testing and Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of electronic prototypes, both in laboratory settings and field environments, to assess performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications and requirements.
4. Iterative Design: Work closely with cross-functional teams to iterate on prototype designs based on test results, user feedback, and emerging technologies, driving continuous improvement and innovation in drone electronics.
5. Soldering and Assembly: Utilize advanced soldering techniques and assembly methods to build and integrate electronic components onto PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) and other substrates, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to industry standards.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of electronic designs, schematics, test procedures, and results, ensuring accurate records are kept throughout the development process. Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of electronic testing equipment and tools, ensuring they are in optimal condition for use and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
8. Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians and interns within the Proto Lab, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for skill development and knowledge sharing in the field of drone electronics.
