Idea Forge Technology Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Executive to manage the Stores department at our R&D Prototype Development Centre. This role is pivotal in supporting rapid prototyping, experimental development, and innovation projects. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in stores management, inventory control, and supply chain operations in a dynamic R&D or technology-driven environment. The position requires close collaboration with the engineering, procurement, and prototype development teams to ensure seamless material flow and optimized stores operations.


Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

  • Maintain precise records of materials, components, and prototype-specific parts.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure timely availability of critical items for R&D and prototype development.

2. Specialized Goods Handling:

  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of R&D materials, including niche and experimental items.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive components, adhering to safety and quality standards.

3. Prototype Material Allocation:

  • Oversee the issuance of materials to prototype development teams based on project-specific requirements.
  • Track material usage to ensure alignment with project budgets and timelines.

4. Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, with a focus on traceability and audit readiness for R&D projects.

5. Inventory Audits and Reconciliation:

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies with R&D project requirements.
  • Provide insights to improve inventory accuracy and streamline material flow.

6. Storage Optimization:

  • Organize the storage of materials to prioritize accessibility and safety, catering to fast-changing R&D needs.
  • Implement best practices for material categorization and safe handling.

7. Reporting:

  • Generate detailed reports on inventory status, material usage trends, and anticipated shortages specific to R&D needs.
  • Support procurement planning with data-driven insights to meet prototype development timelines.

8. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure materials meet R&D project specifications.
  • Act as a key liaison between stores and R&D teams for seamless prototype development.

9. Continuous Improvement:

  • Propose and implement innovative solutions for inventory and material handling processes tailored to R&D operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in material availability and inventory management for critical projects.

Qualifications:

1. Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

2. Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in stores management or inventory control, ideally in an R&D, prototyping, or manufacturing environment.

3. Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (advanced functions), and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management techniques and best practices for R&D and prototype-specific materials.

4. Organizational Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to adapt to dynamic project requirements.

5. Communication Skills:

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

6. Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Problem-solving mindset and capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced R&D environment.

7. Software Experience:

  • Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar.

8. Supply Chain Knowledge:

  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes for niche and low-volume components.

9. Safety Awareness:

  • Familiarity with safety standards for handling specialized materials used in prototype development.
