Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Virtual Data Entry Clerk – Typist to join our team. This is an entry-level position that offers the opportunity to work remotely and be part of a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for entering data into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems.
  2. Typing in data provided directly from customers.
  3. Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes.
  4. Verifying data by comparing it to source documents.
  5. Updating existing data.
  6. Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested.
  7. Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.
  8. Review and update data for deficiencies or errors, correcting any incompatibilities and checking output.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as data entry clerk.
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.).
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Basic understanding of databases.
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
