Description

Our school is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of quality teaching and learning experiences for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting students with SEN, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the teacher in designing and delivering specialised learning programs for students with SEN.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) for each student.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher and parents on their progress.
  • Provide one-to-one assistance to students who need additional help with their learning.
  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants and teachers to provide a positive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist with behaviour management and help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervise and support students during unstructured times such as lunch and recess.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a classroom setting.
  • A level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of children's developmental needs and different learning styles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
