Job Summary


The Social Media Data Analyst will maintain a deep understanding of social networks, social data and its applicability to Life Sciences/Medical affairs. They will understand current trends in Social Media analytics and leverage Social Media Data to generate insights for our internal business partners and external clients. The Social Media Data Analyst will contribute to incorporating impactful capabilities and insights from the social media space into our overall data and analytics products/services.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Data and Analytics Strategy on projects
  • Use data and insights to craft stories
  • Identify emerging influencers and topics of interest based on business criteria
  • Use knowledge of NLP techniques to provide deep insights into current hot topics
  • Monitor networks/communities in relation to business topics of interest.
  • Explore all facets of online engagement (posting, connections, “likes”… etc.) and offers recommendations/insights
  • Derive and write clearly articulated key findings and observations from various data sources
  • Develop clear visualizations/user experiences for conveying business insights from social media data
  • Present social media findings clearly and meaningfully to our internal and external partners
  • Support the business with ad hoc reporting
  • At times if social media-based projects are not underway the Social Media Data Analyst may perform similar work for non-social data sources

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years relevant experience (Internship considered) (Preferred)
  • Proficient coding capability in Python (With proficiency in the use of APIs, NLP and other predictive techniques) (Required)
  • Extensive experience working with Social Media Data (Preferred)
  • Experience building analytical pipelines (Required)
  • A track record of influencing business strategy with data (Required)
  • Experience with PowerPoint and Excel (Required)
  • Experience using research & data analytics tools for social listening, such as Pulsar, Brandwatch, Sprinklr etc. (Preferred)
  • Experience in PowerBI and/or Tableau (Preferred)
  • Experience with pharmaceutical marketing and/or medical communications industry (Preferred)
