Senior System Administrator

Job Description

As a Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation and optimal performance. This is a remote position that requires excellent technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

- Manage and monitor the company's IT systems and networks, including servers, databases, virtual machines, and other hardware and software components.

- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, such as installing updates, patches, and security fixes.

- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that arise with the company's IT infrastructure.

- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data availability and business continuity.

- Provide technical support to end-users for various IT-related issues, including hardware/software problems, network connectivity, etc.

- Collaborate with other teams (such as development, operations) to identify and implement improvements or optimizations in the IT infrastructure.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in system administration.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role in a remote working environment.

- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).

- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and containerization (Docker).

- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members remotely.
