We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Union Fiber Splicer to join our team. The Union Fiber Splicer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables and related equipment. This position requires the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to meeting project deadlines.

As a Union Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for the installation of fiber optic cables, including the fusion splicing and termination of fibers. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing fiber optic cable systems, as well as testing and documenting the performance of fiber optic networks. In addition, you will be required to follow safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities

• Install fiber optic cables and related equipment
• Fusion splice and terminate fibers
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cable systems
• Test and document the performance of fiber optic networks
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines
• Work both independently and as part of a team
• Meet project deadlines

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Certification in fiber optic splicing (e.g., FOA, ETA, or equivalent)
• 2+ years of experience in fiber optic splicing
• Ability to read and interpret fiber optic construction drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as required
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as necessary
