The Data Analyst will present and communicate data in a way that allows institutional faculty, staff, and
leadership to develop insights regarding key metrics to develop actionable steps to improve outcomes
for the communities and people.
Essential Job Duties
- Collect, prepare, and report data with accompanying analysis of data for internal use.
- Write queries to retrieve data from student information systems and other institutional data
sources and databases.
- Maintain calendar of required reports, responsible personnel, and due dates, assuring that
reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain various data visualizations and other business intelligence tools to analyze
institutional effectiveness and support data-informed decision making.
- Compile and maintain reports generated by other offices on campus.
- Work with the Information Services division regarding the capture of key data elements from
the student information system (SIS; currently using Jenzabar).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Two years of experience in a similar environment preferred but candidates with less
experience considered on a case-by-case basis
- Skilled in data analysis (evaluation trends and measures of association)
- Skilled in preparing and modeling data sets
- Skilled in planning and organizing work activities while managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of effective measures use to ensure the accuracy, validity, and reliability of data.
- Communication and collaboration skills required to share information in both written and oral
